An awesome project always starts with research

Academia Gastronomica Scaniensis, is the Academy for cultural sustainability regarding food in southern Sweden. This is where my theoretical research ended up tonight.

För Skåneländska Gastronomiska Akademien är det viktigt att förmedla viktig information till en större publik. Gränsöverbryggande samarbete är alltid fruktbart. Vid vårt Mat & hälsa-symposium, "Skåneländsk Mat - Rena Hälsan - från morronbid till nattamad", presenterades frukosten, middagen och gillesmaten ur medicinska, kulturhistoriska, filosofiska och tillagningsaspekter, samtidigt som deltagarna själva fick njuta av skåneländska specialiteter enligt följande. 
  • Frukostmat: spegesill (spickesill), äggrätter, brödsorter, grötar, mejeriprodukter, fläsk, svagdricka; 
  • Middagsmat: Sillasoppa, saltad lax med äggröra, kokt ål med senapssås & skalpotatis, snudesö/brännesnuda, (soppa på salt kött eller fläsk med klimpar av havregryn), grönkålsoppa med frikadeller, äggkaga med stekt fläsk, rabbemos (rotmos) med fläskbog eller rimmad oxbringa; 
  • Gilles- eller festmat: Malörtsbesk, rökt bornholmare (böckling) med rå äggula, öl och brännvin, rökt rimmat gåsbröst, skånsk hjort med stekt potatis och grönsaker, vin, sviskonkompott med glass och grädde, madeira och kaffe med spettkaka.

Food & Architecture

My thesis project has recieved a working-name (stated in the title, above) and I'm spending my saturday night reading and writing the project descripition.
I came across a book named Eating Architecture that I found interesting at first look and luckily even more interesting after reading the introduction (available as pdf online).

I'll leave you with a parallel between the consumption of a meal and the production of space, as seen by Sarah Wigglesworth. This is her London terrace house, on 9 Stock Orchard Street, that is based on the clinical mapping of a dinner party.
