Poster for the School of Architecture in Lund

I got a small job from the School of architecture in Lund to do a poster for the festivities of the grand re-opening of the school on September 19

Scopic Assemblage | Workshop Critique [EDIT]

The last two weeks there has been a workshop at the School of Architecture in Lund, SE. The third year students got to learn how to work in Autodesk Maya, and with their new tools they got to design a pavilion. For the final presentation they all did a big stereoscopic (3D) render in size A0.
For the workshop we got a hold of two great tutors from the London based research group SubDivision; Julia Koerner and Adam Vukmanov.

I have co-administrated this workshop together with prof. Abelardo Gonzalez. I also assisted the students through the long hours.

The workshop ended with the symposium Celebrating Architecture on Friday, September 9 and on Saturday we had the critique. We had the great pleasure of having the lecturers from Celebrating Architecture in the jury.

[EDIT] Link to student projects.

Here are some pictures that I took during the critique.

Celebrating Architecture September 9 [EDIT]

The Board of Education for the School of Architecture in Lund, Sweden, has together with guest Professor Sir Peter Cook, prepared a small symposium – Celebrating Architecture.
The aim of this symposium is to create a dynamic dialogue where architecture, design and education are the main focus. With the help of merited guests we are hoping to achieve a broad spectrum of dialogue and an innovative approach to progressive architectural education.
The theme this year is “What is the main focus in architecture today?”

To give the students the best start possible on their semester we annually invite notable and well-known architects from all over the world to participate in a symposium. Exciting lectures, discussions and critiques involve students and professors as well as practicing architects and designers. With the help of merited guests we are hoping to achieve a broad spectrum of dialogue and an innovative approach to progressive architectural education.
Celebrating Architecture is a day of lectures and discussions about designing for the future, considering the challenges of extreme environment, emerging technologies and innovative design aspects.

This year we are proud to present:
Sir Peter Cook (London), CRAB Studio
Marie-Therese Harnoncourt (Vienna), next ENTERprice - architects
Izaskun Chinchilla (Madrid), Isaskun Chinchilla architects
Julia Koerner (London), SUBDIVISION architectural research practice

Archival: Naive collage

Archival: Monochrome render

This is a really simple render of the very same project shown in the previous plan sketch. It doesn't really tell you anything about the project itself, but it is something about it that catches my eye!

Archival: Conceptual weaving

I found these photos while building portfolio.
It's a project from a workshop in my last semester on Bachelor's year.
I think it's a really tantalizing design, that really wasn't a "design". Me and two of my classmates, Aksel Widoff and Farhad Jalalvand, actually each made a couple of pieces and finally weaving all of them together without trying to control the end result.
The concept was to see how diverse a structure we could obtain with a simple crosshatch weaving technique.

Archival project

Since I'm a bit un-productiv during the summer I decided to post some goodies from my "archive" to keep the blog busy.
Enjoy
